Prather Engineering has served the aerospace and defense industries for more than

25 years. The company was founded by Roderic D. Prather in September of 1971

in Long Beach CA, the long time heart of Southern California aerospace and defense manufacturing.

In 1997, Cary Prather, the founder's son who grew up in the Aerospace industry, became president and owner of Prather Engineering. After assuming the reigns of power, Cary Prather immediately and aggressively began to implement changes both technologically and philosophically which would align Prather Engineering with both the needs and demands of the 21st. century. All departments from shipping to quality were literally reorganized and re-housed. Old equipment was replaced with more responsive and flexible Mazak machining centers. Backing-up the operator-friendly programming features of Mazatrol, is the latest in programming systems for complex configurations and surfaces, Mastercam.

As a result of these extensive transformations carried out in the course of one year, Prather Engineering now complies with the stringent standards of ISO 9002 as well as Boeing Document D1-9000 Rev. A. In addition, Prather Engineering has maintained its inspection designation as a Preferred Supplier and its performance status at the Silver and Bronze level.
